ABBEYWOOD ESTATE WEDDING VENUE

Abbeywood Estate is a beautiful country home situated in the in the heart of Delamere Forest. A countryside wedding venue Abbeywood Estate has the most beautiful light indoor rooms & barns and beautiful outdoor areas including their extensive gardens.

The Cheshire wedding venue can cater for small intimate weddings and also lavish affairs, always with the homely qualities being a family run business. Everyone is sure to feel complete at ease at this venue. The team have ensured that the venue is the perfect mix of elegant and relaxed.

The beautiful Abbeywood Estate and Gardens has to be one of my favourite Cheshire wedding venues. Luckily I live just down the road from it and I get to shoot there many times a year. I’ve also been known to pop in for lunch or a slice of cake quite a lot. It’s pretty much my home from home!

Abbeywood Estate has been home to the Rowlinson family since the 1980s. The 45 acre rural estate is just outside Northwich, right on the edge of Delemere Forest. It is surrounded by stunning Cheshire countryside and has views out over the Utkinton Hills.

An exclusive use Cheshire wedding venue

Couples get to take over the entire venue and grounds for the day and Abbeywood is perfect for any size wedding, from intimate ceremonies right through to huge celebrations. It’s so versatile, whatever the season, whether it’s rain or shine, I’ve never had a bad experience here. On sunny days couples can get married on the beautiful, manicured lawn. It’s such a lovely spot, especially when all the flowers are in bloom and the couple say their vows surrounded by colour and the odd butterfly. If you’re holding a smaller ceremony then the Gazebo, within the exotic garden, is the perfect choice. It also makes a fab area for guests to hang out during the wedding reception or for holding an evening BBQ or hog roast.

If the weather is looking a bit iffy, or couples prefer to hold their ceremony indoors, then there is no shortage of options. I love it when ceremonies are held in the Glasshouse. It’s filled with natural light and, as the name suggests, is built entirely of glass. It really feels like you’re outside amongst the plants even though you’re inside. As well as ceremonies, this space is also perfect for holding a wedding breakfast of up to 190 guests. Photographing the speeches in here is great as there is so much space and, of course, that lovely natural light. A photographer’s dream!

NATURAL LIGHT CEREMONY

Couples choosing to host their ceremony at Abbeywood can do so in The Glasshouse. The glass conservatory is bathed in natural light so even on a grey day it will produce quality light for your civil ceremony photographs. You can also marry in the barn and outside; I have shot a wedding in every ceremony location.

ABBEYWOOD GARDENS

Abbeywood has the most beautiful grounds; we can explore their formal gardens, the woodland area and also the palm areas. The natural beauty is captured throughout the seasons and each time I visit the venue its always changing.

Rustic country barn wedding venue

Lots of my couples book Abbeywood for the incredible outdoor space and the relaxed, rustic feel. The landscaped gardens are nothing short of stunning, there are so many nooks and crannies to explore as well as woodlands and fields. I never run out of ideas when it comes to wedding portraits, the opposite in fact!

If you’re looking for real countryside, rural barn wedding vibes then you can hold your celebrations in The Barn. It’s a really warm and welcoming space which is perfect for slightly larger weddings of up to 120 guests. Alternatively, for more intimate weddings, the Orangery (70 guests) or Garden Cafe (up to 80 guests) are great choices. The Orangery has views out over the exotic garden and is also the perfect spot for welcome drinks and canapes. Anyone who has seen my Insta Stories will know I love plants so, as you can imagine, I love spending time here and looking at all the weird and wonderful species out in the gardens!

ABBEYWOOD ESTATE WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY

The team at Abbeywood Estate have spent years turning this venue into one of the most popular venues in Cheshire. Their blend of rustic and traditional elements have created a space where everyone feels welcome. At Abbeywood Estate they recognise how important beautiful wedding photos are to their couples. As such, they have created light and elegant spaces, the perfect backdrop for capturing the story of the day. I am one of Abbeywoods recommended suppliers and you can find my sample wedding albums in their Garden room.

I could talk about Abbeywood for hours. It really is one of the best Cheshire wedding venues and I adore the team who work there. Even if you’re not getting married you should pop in for coffee, cake and a wander around the gardens. It’s a real hidden gem and somewhere I think everyone should visit.

It goes without saying but, if you’ve just booked your wedding there, then I would love to chat to you about your Abbeywood wedding photography. Please get in touch and tell me all about your plans.
