Describe your wedding in three words
Worth. The. Wait!

Why you chose the date of wedding (did it have any meaning?)

This was the 4th or 5th date we chose, due to Covid delaying all our plans! We originally chose a June date we were so happy with our September day; the weather was absolutely perfect!

Anything about how you met/proposal story

James proposed by the lake at Delamere Forest, somewhere we go for walks quite often. It had been raining and I wasn’t keen on going but he was trying his best to convince me we would have a great time!
In the end the sun came out just before he got down on one knee, and stayed out for the rest of the day.
James had also organised a surprise party with our closest family and friends to celebrate that afternoon – who all knew about the proposal before I did! It was the best day and completely perfect.

Your inspiration/style/aspirations for the day

Our aspiration for the wedding was a small, intimate day and a big, big party in the evening that no one would forget!
Our inspiration for the theme of the day was modern classic ; whites and greens, simple stationery. Our venue is beautiful and surrounded by flowers which you can see through the amazing glasshouse, so we knew we didn’t need to go mad inside.

Memorable/emotional/funny moment on the day

One of my favourite moments from the day was just after our first dance.
We chose Glitterball by Sigma and Ella Henderson as the second song of the night, as we thought the lyrics were very fitting and knew it would get everyone up dancing. I remember everyone just piling onto the dance floor and surrounding us, singing along.
We also booked a sax and percussion package with our DJ which we hadn’t told any of our guests, so when they came onto the dance floor next everyone was blown away!

How did you discover me and why you chose me to photograph the day

I came across Jess a LONG time ago now! I noticed that she did a lot of photography in and around Delamere, which drew me to her given how much that area means to us. We also loved her natural style of shooting, and once we’d met her for an engagement shoot and found the experience so easy, we absolutely knew we’d met the perfect photographer.
In fact, we love Jess and her beautiful photographs so much that between covid cancellations, she’s captured lots of special moments in between, including a maternity shoot and a newborn shoot with our son Harry. All these photos mean the world to us!

Any advice for couples planning their wedding?

Don’t sweat the small stuff. It really won’t matter on the day if you don’t have personalised paper sweet bags or little packs of tissues for guests – they won’t notice and you won’t on the day as you’ll be having too much fun!

Are you going on a honeymoon?

We went to Greece on our honeymoon – all we wanted to do was eat great food, read books by the pool and relax!

Anything else….

Thank you so much Jess for capturing this day – it was a long time coming!
