Grange Barn wedding venue – a rustic Cheshire barn venue
Nestled in the heart of the Cheshire countryside, surrounded by farmland and a hop, skip and a jump to the Shropshire border is Grange Barn. One of the newest wedding venues on the block, renovations started at the beginning of 2019. The former cattle barn is now a relaxed, rustic and modern venue with the owners retaining lots of the original features alongside some unique, contemporary decor.
Weddings at Grange Barn
I’ve photographed a few weddings since Grange Barn wedding venue opened and it has rapidly made its way onto my list of favourite venues. The dairy farm, and venue, are family run and you can really see the love, time and dedication that has been spent on the refurbishment.
Situated in the picturesque Cheshire village of Marbury there are plenty of local churches within 5-10 minutes drive. Perfect for couples planning a religious ceremony before heading back to Grange Barn for their celebrations. If you prefer to have a civil ceremony on site then you can choose to get married outside on the decking, with incredible views of the countryside as your backdrop, or inside the barn itself.
The purpose built ceremony room, just to the side of the main barn, manages to be spacious yet cosy at the same time. Guests sit on benches or wooden chairs and hessian bunting is strung across the high ceiling.
Once the ceremony is over guests (and the newly weds!) can enjoy canapés and drinks on the south facing decking, it’s a real sun trap.
Inside the main barn, huge full length windows flood the space with natural light and fairy and festoon lights give the place a real celebratory atmosphere. Haybales are dotted around the barn and huge chandelier wagon wheels hang from the ceiling.
At night the main barn comes into its own. It is built for parties! I love Grange Barn’s state of the art sound system. When you’re on the dancefloor the music volume is perfect for those “party vibes” but as you step away towards the seating area there’s a fast sound fall off meaning those who prefer to have a catch up can chat to each other without having to shout. It’s brilliant!
Morning wedding preparations at Grange Barn Wedding Venue
Sally and Tom Charlesworth, the family behind Grange Barn, look after their couples so well. They only hold one wedding a week, to ensure that couples have sole use of the venue from Friday to Sunday. Plenty of time for them to put their own touches to the space!
The Loft, the purpose built bridal suite, is the newest addition to Grange Barn wedding venue. It’s perfect for the night before the wedding, the morning of and for a romantic wedding night.
Hollywood mirrors line the walls so you can get ready in style while, in the luxurious bedroom, a copper statement bath is the height of decadence. Like the main barn, The Loft has plenty of natural light. It’s a photographer’s dream!
There is an abundance of accommodation around the local area so any guests travelling from further afield will have no problems finding somewhere to stay.
