We’ve been together for 8 years now, so it was about time Matty asked! He had been getting grief from his mum and my mum for a while so eventually gave in!
We met at a pub on Christmas Eve and were introduced by a mutual friend, the rest is history! He proposed at home by giving me a scrap book with loads of photos in, on the back page it said will you marry me. I was so shocked in the moment I didn’t say yes for ages!

We wanted the day to be fun and relaxed. Grange barn was a perfect venue because it’s rustic and didn’t feel too formal. I really love the look of the pampas grass and dried flowers and think this went really well with the venue and suited the time of year too. The fairy lights at Grange Barn and the ‘to the moon and back’ sign we rented from ido hire helped to make the venue feel really magical!

Memorable moment – our friend Daniel East sang during the ceremony and when our band finished at the end, we weren’t ready for the party to finish so he got his guitar back out and we finished with a singalong to wonderwall! He stood on a chair and played. Everyone joined in, it was amazing! We also had a near miss moment when some of our friends put Matthew and me on their shoulders, Matthew’s head was above the fairy lights and he very nearly pulled them all down in his drunken state. Luckily we were ok!

We saw some pictures you had done of one of our friends’ weddings and absolutely loved them. You captured the moment perfectly and we really liked the candid style of the shots. We definitely made the right decision, we didn’t feel like any time was taken away from the day by getting photos as you just snapped away from the sidelines, which was really important for us!

We’re in the airport on the way home from New York as we speak. Absolutely devastated to be returning to real life after an amazing wedding and honeymoon! The wedding/after wedding bubble really is the best.
