Describe your wedding in three words
Why you chose the date of wedding (did it have any meaning?)
It felt like a good date! (Easy for Jake to remember too haha!)
Anything about how you met/proposal story
We met in sixth form back in 2009 and kept falling out of touch with each other until 2013 when we reconnected online. Haven’t had a day without speaking to each other since! In 2021 Jake brought Ava (then 8 months old) into Rachel (after a well deserved lie in) and she was holding a ring box. They asked her together and it was the easiest yes ever!
Your inspiration/style/aspirations for the day
We wanted an intimate, relaxed feel to the wedding with a touch of magic. Sandon Hall brought the magic with its stunning grounds and exclusivity. Lavender and eucalyptus were the flowers and colours for the theme with Lavender being Rachel’s late Nan’s favourite flower. The sage green tied in with a late spring/early summer wedding.
Memorable/emotional/funny moment on the day
Watching Ava play croquet was really cute! The mother of the bride’s surprise serenade at the speeches. Seeing everyone cracking out their best dance moves, particularly the dirty dancing lift was funny! The sunshine beaming in on us as we said our vows through the conservatory was just magical
How did you discover me and why you chose me to photograph the day
Through a recommendation from another photographer! We looked through your website and instagram and fell in love with your relaxed, documentary style. How well you could photograph children was impressive to us because Ava was such a big part of the day and being a toddler not always compliant but we knew I’d anyone could, you could. Jake hates having his photo taken and posing so a more documentary, natural style was perfect!

Get all your suppliers booked early so you can get the people
Are you going on a honeymoon?
Yes! We’re off on a Disney Cruise in August. It will be Ava’s first holiday too and first time meeting Mickey Mouse! We are very excited to celebrate our marriage again on the seas.
