Dorfold Hall // Eve & Hayden

Dorfold Hall in Nantwich, Cheshire is a stunning wedding venue and the chosen location for Eve & Hayden.

Wedding photography at Dorfold Hall

It’s always a real treat to photograph at Dorfold. The staff there are fab, so friendly and can’t do enough for couples and their guests. Wedding days run so smoothly and the co-ordinators are always on hand to help out. Whether it’s getting a couple some water on a hot day or helping me gather guests for family photographs, nothing is too much trouble and I really feel part of the team which is lovely.

The Hall itself is incredible. Its grand architecture and historic features provide a stunning backdrop. From the period features and antiques to the modern art and furnishings, every detail of the venue has been carefully thought through. The parkland estate also offers a huge array of beautiful, natural settings for wedding photographs. The picturesque lakes and woodlands are fab for a more rural vibe or the landscaped lawn to the rear of the Hall is great for some romantic couple portraits. There is just such a variety of places to work with and I’m never short of ideas when I’m there.

Stunning, versatile wedding venue

I love how Dorfold mixes the old and the new – the contemporary and the historical – the grand and the intimate. Couples have so many different options to choose from, depending on the size of their wedding and their plans. It’s safe to say that no two weddings are ever the same there!

Couples can choose from various locations within the estate to hold their wedding ceremony, including the sweeping lawns with their views over the Cheshire countryside, or the recently renovated Coach House which is full of character and charm. There are also a number of churches just a few minutes drive away for couples who want a more traditional wedding ceremony. I have to say, I do love capturing a classic wedding car making its way up the tree lined driveway after a church wedding.

Wedding receptions are held either on the lawn or in the courtyard within the walled garden. The secluded courtyard, with its herbaceous borders, is surrounded on three sides by the Coach House, the Tack Room and L’Ecurie. The light and airy Tack Room is a contemporary bar area whilst L’Ecurie – French for “stable” – is the main events space at Dorfold. It’s a unique, modern area built around the old stableyard wall. Huge windows, with views out over the Clock Tower, let in so much natural light making it the ideal spot for wedding breakfasts and the evening’s dancefloor action.

As Dorfold is an exclusive use venue, couples and their guests get the run of the place for one, two or three days. There’s also on site accommodation for up to 22 guests and no shortage of hotels, AirBnBs and holiday cottages within the local area.
