Cheshire Wedding Photography // Bethan & Carl

A Cheshire wedding. I asked the lovely Beth and Carl how they would describe their wedding day at the Old Hall Frodsham, they said ‘Intimate, relaxed, perfect!’ and it really was! They were married in a beautiful church ceremony followed by epic celebrations at the Old Hall Frodsham. They chose their date, the 9th of June for sentimental reasons, being the weekend of their 10th year anniversary.

Beth and Carl planned a very authentic day, surrounded by their friends and family. The Old Hall Frodsham is a historic 16th century hotel and a brilliant party space, the dance floor was full as soon as the tunes came on!

Beth got ready at home and looked utterly beautiful, with her lovely bridesmaids in pretty rich red dresses, a colour that they subtly wove throughout the day. Carl and his men complimented in matching ties and very smart navy suits. They decorated the tables and venue at Old Hall Frodsham with pretty foliage details and stationery, an english garden feel and it looked so elegant.

Carl and Beth were such a delight to photography, so happy and relaxed around each other and just completely in love. Congratulations to you both, thanks for choosing me for your day at Old Hall Frodsham.  Also can I just say….Beth’s going away outfit, so cool right

When Carl and I met it was purely by chance. We were both staying in the same hotel in Scotland and neither of us were supposed to be there at that time until some last minute changes happened with both of our jobs. Everything fell into place for us both to end up in the right place at the right time.

We knew the style of photography we wanted for our day, one that was relaxed, unobtrusive and that really captured our family and friends natural emotions that day, we wanted to keep as much of our day as local as we could and picked Jess as she fit the bill perfectly.

Inspiration and style for the day was relaxed with a touch of tradition, with our flowers and stationery we chose a style of English garden with lots of greenery (ivory and blush roses, peonies with ferns and eucalyptus leaves). My dress was quite traditional which is not at all what I initially thought I would end up in but what I felt most like a bride in!

Our aspirations for the day were that all of our guests and ourselves were able to relax and really enjoy the day and to take in the really special moments such as our vows and the speeches. The speeches were all memorable, emotional and funny, during these there were different points for everyone to laugh and cry.

Carl and Beth chose the brilliant Radiohead ‘Reckoner’ as their song for the first dance;

Our first dance was particularly emotional as this song came in to our lives at the same time that we fell in love and we knew instantly that this would be our first dance song. Dancing to this on our wedding day at the Old Hall really put in to perspective how far we had come together and felt just as it did the first time we heard it together, hence the reason I cried almost all the way through it!

All along we had an idea of how we wanted our wedding day to be and it turned out to be exactly how we had wished and hoped for! We felt our day was truly full of love.

A totally amazing day at Old Hall Frodsham and such a joy to photograph a couple so totally lost in each other and the moment!

with love Jess x
