Victoria & Caleb’s Relaxed, Joyful and Personal Wedding at Rookery Hall Hotel

Three words to describe the day: Relaxed, Joyful & Personal

Victoria and Caleb’s summer wedding at the stunning Rookery Hall Hotel was the perfect mix of elegance, fun, and heartfelt celebration. From the moment guests arrived to the final dance, the day radiated warmth, laughter, and effortless joy – a true reflection of the couple themselves.

From University Days to “I Do”

Vic and Caleb’s story began 12 years ago when they met at the University of Birmingham. What started as a student romance has since blossomed into a life built together in London, though they both remain Northerners at heart – with Vic from Cheshire and Caleb from the Isle of Man.

Caleb’s proposal was as thoughtful as it was personal. On his 30th birthday, during a morning walk on Hampstead Heath, he popped the question – the perfect start to a day that would later see all their friends arriving for a big celebration at their flat. In true Caleb style, there was even an ice luge… which made a reappearance at their wedding too!

A Celebration at Rookery Hall Hotel

The couple chose Rookery Hall Hotel, set in the Cheshire countryside, as the venue for their relaxed and romantic celebration. Its elegant architecture, lush grounds, and timeless charm created the perfect backdrop for a day filled with love, laughter, and dancing.

For Vic and Caleb, the focus was clear: they wanted their wedding to be relaxed, fun, and full of energy. Their aim was to make sure everyone enjoyed themselves – great food, flowing drinks, and a dancefloor that never emptied. Mission accomplished!

Style Inspiration

Vic took inspiration from Carolyn Kennedy’s iconic wedding, loving the way she looked so natural and happy. That effortless beauty translated perfectly into Vic’s own bridal style – timeless, elegant, and chic.

For her bridesmaids, she wanted individuality and colour. Each bridesmaid chose her own dress style and shade from a bright, happy palette, creating a joyful, summery look that reflected the couple’s laid-back vibe.

A Ceremony Filled with Meaning

One of the most personal touches of the day was having a mutual friend act as their celebrant. It made the ceremony feel incredibly intimate and meaningful, especially as they were lucky enough to hold it outdoors under clear blue skies. With 150 guests gathered to celebrate, the atmosphere was full of love and laughter.

Moments to Remember

It was 31 degrees on the day, but the heat didn’t slow anyone down! Guests mingled, laughed, and danced the night away — the dancefloor was constantly full, with more than a few guests ending up on shoulders as the evening went on!

Capturing the Day

Vic and Caleb discovered Jess after seeing her work at their friends Anna and Matthew George’s wedding, instantly falling in love with her photography style.

“Jess was truly fantastic as our photographer and we loved how she got all the shots whilst giving us the space to enjoy ourselves. Neither of us are too comfortable in front of a camera but Jess knew exactly what to do and where we should be. It was 31 degrees and Jess made sure we looked our best, the photos looked great and our guests were not standing in the sun for long periods. Just perfect all round and I love the pictures we now have for a lifetime!”

The Soundtrack of the Day

Their first dance was to “You’ve Got the Love” by Florence and the Machine, the perfect song for a couple who truly embody love, fun, and togetherness.

Honeymoon Adventures

After the celebrations, Vic and Caleb took a romantic mini-moon to Marseille, a sun-soaked escape to unwind after the wedding. A longer honeymoon to South Africa is planned for September – an adventure they can’t wait to begin.

Words of Wisdom

“Focus on a few bigger things you care about the most – photographer, venue, and music – and don’t spend too much time or money worrying about the small things. You won’t remember them on the day!”

A simple reminder that weddings, at their best, are about joy, love, and the moments that make your heart full – just like Vic and Caleb’s incredible day at Rookery Hall Hotel.
