The Loveliest Family Shoot with Emma
Fun. Beautiful. Precious.

Those three words from Rachel perfectly captured the essence of this family session. Sometimes, life moves so quickly that we forget to stop and take it all in. Rachel booked this shoot with that exact thought in mind – “Emma is growing up so fast and I didn’t want life to pass us by without capturing us together as a family, just being ‘us’.”

And that’s exactly what we did.

The Shoot
Our session was relaxed and natural – filled with cuddles, laughter, and quiet moments that spoke volumes. Emma, who’s now six, was an absolute joy to capture. One of the most emotional moments of the shoot was Rachel rocking her like she did when she was a baby, gently singing the lullaby they once shared. It was the kind of moment that gives you goosebumps and reminds you why these sessions matter.

When I asked Rachel what her favourite part of the session was, she joked, “Getting the photos back lol,” but quickly added how much she loved cuddling Emma and simply being together with her family. Those are the moments that truly matter – and they showed through beautifully in every single frame.

The Gallery
Once the photos were delivered, Rachel struggled to choose just one favourite. (Understandably!) Her shortlist included image numbers 31, 35, 78, 81, 85, 86, 98, 99, 105, 108, 115, 123, and 155… and the list kept growing. It’s always such a joy to hear when clients connect deeply with their gallery – it means the world to me.

How It All Began
Rachel had been following my work on Instagram and felt drawn to the relaxed, natural style I try to bring to every family shoot. I’m so grateful she reached out-it was such a privilege to photograph her beautiful family and help freeze these fleeting moments in time.

A Few Kind Words
“Jess was warm and friendly from the word go. She made us feel so relaxed and let us ‘do our thing’ while she captured us. The whole process was super easy, from choosing a location to receiving the photos. Jess was very flexible and open to anything. We are so happy with the photos and can’t pick one to display on the wall—there are so many lovely ones.”
