Louise & Michael’s Magical Foxtail Summer Wedding
When Louise & Michael described their wedding in three words – magical, sunny, party – they weren’t exaggerating. Their day was everything they hoped for: blue skies, soaring temperatures, and a celebration that was as full of love as it was of laughter.
The Date
For Louise & Michael, it had to be summer. They dreamed of sunshine, long days, and that carefree holiday feeling—and their wish came true. On their wedding day, the weather delivered in style, blessing them with sunshine from start to finish.
Their Story
Their love story began on a night out in Quayside back in June 2013. It was one of those nights where the music was loud, the drinks were flowing, and fate was busy behind the scenes. Louise was about to head off to university and wasn’t looking for anything serious… but Mike clearly had other plans.
From that night, he made sure Louise wasn’t slipping away. Weekends were spent driving to Liverpool, often with a mate in tow for a night out, and somehow always ending up at Louise’s uni halls. The weekdays were filled with long FaceTime calls, where Louise admits she applied a full face of makeup every time just for video chatting. Dedication at its finest.
By October that same year, Mike made it official, asking Louise to be his girlfriend. From there, they powered through long motorway miles, job changes, two house moves, and of course, welcoming their beloved dog Bailey into the family.
The proposal came years later on what Louise thought was a normal walk in Delamere Forest. When Mike stopped to tie his shoelace, she had no idea what was coming. Instead of laces, he pulled out a ring. Cue shock, happy tears (and what Louise jokingly calls ugly crying) for the rest of the walk – it couldn’t have been more perfect.
The Wedding Vision
Louise & Michael had one clear aspiration: a big party with all of their favourite people. And their day absolutely delivered. With sun-soaked celebrations and a buzzing atmosphere, their wedding was all about joy, connection, and fun.
The Day Itself
From the very first dance to the very last, their day was filled with energy. Their first dance set the tone, before the party really took off. Guests danced into the night, with Louise even ending up on shoulders—though she admits her poor friend probably wasn’t ready for the suffocating layers of her wedding dress! It was the kind of wedding where laughter echoed everywhere, and memories were made on and off the dance floor.
Their wedding song? Delilah – a unique, brilliant choice that had everyone singing along.
The Photography
Louise & Michael first came across my work through family portraits, which led them to explore my wedding galleries. After browsing my website, they knew my style was the perfect fit to capture their big day—and it was such a joy to be part of it.
Advice for Future Couples
Their advice is simple but important: enjoy every single minute and don’t worry about anything. The day passes so quickly, and little hiccups won’t even register. What matters is soaking it all in and making memories that last a lifetime.
The Honeymoon
To top it all off, Louise & Michael are heading to Turkey for ten nights of bliss. An adults-only, all-inclusive escape (much needed for Louise, who’s a teacher!)—the perfect way to unwind after their magical summer celebration.
