Lisa & Chris at Abbeywood Estate, Delamere

Three words to describe their day: Joyful, relaxed, and romantic.

Chris and Lisa’s wedding was the perfect blend of laughter, love, and laid-back celebration. After ten wonderful years together, they chose to tie the knot on the exact anniversary of when their story first began – a full decade of shared memories leading up to this beautiful day.

How It All Began

The couple first met at work, sitting side by side for nine hours a day – the start of something neither of them could have predicted would lead to forever. Fast forward a few years, and Chris popped the question in the most romantic of settings: by the River Danube in Budapest. After she said yes, the two celebrated in true style – dancing the night away in the city’s famous ruin bars!

The Vision

Lisa and Chris wanted a wedding that reflected who they are as a couple: relaxed, joyful, and full of warmth. They dreamed of a garden setting in the UK – somewhere that captured the beauty of the outdoors, but with a good indoor option (just in case the British weather had other plans!).

Their botanical garden venue was the perfect fit. With a stunning glasshouse and lush greenery, it offered a sense of magic whether the sun was shining or the rain was falling – and, true to form, they got a bit of both!

The Day

Their day was full of love and laughter, and a few hilarious moments too – including Lisa accidentally pouring cider down her beautiful wedding dress and having to wash it in the sink (the kind of story you’ll laugh about forever!).

From start to finish, their wedding was all about connection and celebration – no formal stiffness, just genuine happiness shared with family and friends. Their first dance to “I Found You” by Alabama Shakes was the perfect soundtrack to their story: soulful, romantic, and full of heart.

Why They Chose Me

Chris and Lisa found me through an online search and loved my documentary style and fun approach to wedding photography. It was such a joy capturing their day – their easy going nature and the love between them made it effortless to document.

A Few Words of Wisdom

When asked what advice they’d give other couples, Lisa and Chris shared something truly valuable:

“Focus on spending your money on your priorities and really ask whether something is needed or not. Also, don’t be afraid to buy second hand – we got some bargains on Facebook Marketplace!”

Honeymoon Adventures

And because one honeymoon wasn’t enough, these two treated themselves to two! A week in Poland shortly after the wedding, followed by a dream three-week trip to Laos and Thailand in the autumn – the perfect balance of adventure and relaxation.

Final Thoughts

Chris and Lisa’s day was a celebration of love, laughter, and authenticity – a reminder that weddings don’t have to be formal to be unforgettable. Rain or shine, their joy lit up the glasshouse, and it was an absolute honour to capture every moment.
