Crewe Hall // Angeli & Tom
Crewe Hall is a beautiful Cheshire venue. Angeli & tom chose a local Church to marry and then headed back to the hall for the wedding reception.
Describe your wedding in three words
Full of love
Why you chose the date of wedding (did it have any meaning?)
It marks our 3 year anniversary. Tom and I met at work (Wembley Stadium) and on the 27 May 2019 I messaged Tom asking if he was ready for the final ‘finals’ – it was the last play-off final of a triple header weekend at Wembley Stadium (Championship Play-Off Final, League 1 Play-Off Final and League 2 Play-Off Final back-to-back over a bank holiday weekend). He replied and the rest is history. On the day of our wedding day, we both asked each other if we were ready for the final finals (of being single), etc. So it has now become a thing!
Anything about how you met/proposal story
I was delivering a briefing at work and he was walking along the glass corridor on the level above me – it is going to sound so cliche but our eyes met, stared at each other for a little too long, and felt ‘something’. The question above pretty much explains what happened after this and we have been together ever since! We moved in our first flat together in March 2020 and went into lockdown two weeks after! At the time, we always joked that we will come out of lockdown either married or separated and luckily for us it is the former and not the latter.
Tom originally wanted to propose to me on my birthday but Lockdown #2 meant he had to bring his plans forward by a week or so. He hired a private pod on London Eye and got on one knee as we reached the top. Bless him, he was so nervous the entire time and it was evident. True to our comedic nature, my response wasn’t yes but rather “are you joking”. Though of course I said yes!
Your inspiration/style/aspirations for the day
We had only one aspiration for the day which was to make as much memories of the day together for us to remember and always look back on.
Memorable/emotional/funny moment on the day
Memorable – Not being able to hold back my tears walking down the aisle and couple’s portraits (laughter shared during this time) after the meal
Memorable (Tom) – Reading the card I wrote for him to open morning of
Emotional – My dad being able to walk me down the aisle (form of a photo pendant attached to my bouquet) – this was gifted to my older sister on the morning of her wedding from her groom and he passed only a few weeks before my sister’s wedding
Emotional (Tom) – Tom’s dad’s reading at the church
Funny – Tequila shots for our wedding toast (and the very many tequila shots that followed thereafter)
How did you discover me and why you chose me to photograph the day
Agreeing on a location for our wedding was tough as Tom is from Southport and I grew up in London. We are very lucky to have been able to travel a fair bit too so literally, many locations were considered from Scotland to Philippines and all places in between. We finally settled with having our ceremony at the church where Tom was baptised 30 odd years ago which was of course St Chad’s Church. That anchored our wedding location and plans were made around that – I think I found you by looking for photographers around that area and I’m so glad I did! I found your page, saw your work, and convinced Tom that I found our photographer. Crewe hall was the chosen venue.
Wedding song?
Beautiful Crazy – Luke Combs
Any advice for couples planning their wedding?
Enjoy the process because you will only get to do this once (hopefully) and always aim to create as much memories that you, as a couple, will remember and look back on
Are you going on a honeymoon?
Mini moon in France the day after our wedding to watch Liverpool play in the Champions League Final – we lost, sadly! Then Mauritius for our honeymoon.
Anything else….
We went with our gut instinct choosing you as a photographer (despite not originally being within our budget) and honestly so glad that we did. You have captured our day beautifully – the photos are romantically timeless and one we will fondly look back on for a very long time to come.
