Colshaw // Rachel & Matt

Colshaw Hall – a beautiful country estate prides itself on being one of Cheshire’s most exclusive and luxurious wedding venues.

Sitting within 300 acres of Cheshire countryside, Colshaw Hall is a privately owned country estate. The Irlam family lived at the Hall for years before lovingly restoring it and turning it into the award winning wedding venue it is today. Located in Lower Peover, just outside Knutsford, Colshaw Hall is within easy reach of Chester, Manchester and Liverpool, all of which have great travel links. Ideal if couples have guests coming from further afield for their wedding.

Describe your wedding in three words

Relaxed, incredible, fun

Why you chose the date of wedding (did it have any meaning?)

No meaning we just wanted a spring wedding

Anything about how you met/proposal story

We met in work, we was friends for 2 years and then we had our first date at bingo so it wasn’t too much pressure. We got together January 17th 2017 and kept it a secret from work until 1st April 2017. Unfortunately told everyone on April fools day so it took a while to convince our friends.

We was booked to go the Maldives where Matt said he was going to propose. However covid happened, so he said he didn’t want to wait. I came in one day to candles everywhere, flowers and my favourite tea cooked. He also made me a cup of tea ( which is all we both drink and love) when I drank it, the bottom of the cup had Will you marry me? Printed on it.
We instantly FaceTimed family and it was perfect. 5 days later we found our we was pregnant with our son.

Your inspiration/style/aspirations for the day

We wanted a classic day with our decor and a relaxed vibe and fun with family and friends.

Memorable/emotional/funny moment on the day

Throwing the bouquet was amazing I loved it and it was everything. The registar also winking at me when I managed to say lawfully correctly.

One of my favourite parts of the day was when me and matt went off for our pictures. And you and Lou put our first dance song on and just let us enjoy the moment. It was perfect.

How did you discover me and why you chose me to photograph the day

I discovered you on Instagram, I instantly loved your photography style. I wanted a relaxed day and me and matt are not very good infront of the camera so you and Lou made us so comfortable and at ease. Best decision we made

Wedding song?

One life – James bay

Any advice for couples planning their wedding?

Don’t stress about the small stuff. Just enjoy the day it goes by so quickly and make sure you and your partner have 5 mins aside to take it all in.

Are you going on a honeymoon?

We went on a family moon with our son a week after the wedding to Turkey. It was the most amazing holiday and our first one as a family of 3

Anything else….

Just thank you so so much for everything. You only walk away from a wedding with your rings and photographs the rest you don’t use or see again. To know we have our pictures for life and how incredible they are, you can’t put a price on that. They are memories that last forever and we are so made up we chose you.

REVIEW

“Jess was our photographer for our wedding at Colshaw hall on 06.04.23 and I can safely say it was the best decision we made to book Jess.
The day was perfect and relaxed, Jess was so lovely and bubbly which put myself and matt at complete ease. We also had a second shooter who was louise and she was amazing too and they both complemented our day perfectly.
We also got our preview pictures back and they are stunning and made up so excited to see the rest !
We both can’t thank you enough” – Rach & Matt
