A Springtime Celebration at Abbeywood Gardens // Holly & Nate

There are some weddings that just feel like a fairy tale—and Holly and Nate’s was exactly that. A joyful, magical Spring day set against the enchanting backdrop of Abbeywood Gardens, full of laughter, love, and fresh florals that perfectly captured the season.

From the moment I met Holly and Nate, I knew their day would be something special. Their warmth and easy connection with each other made photographing them an absolute joy. They tied the knot on 25.04.25—a date they chose simply because they loved the time of year and the way it sounded. And honestly, it does have a lovely ring to it.

From Pub Shifts to Promises

Holly and Nate’s love story began at 19, working side-by-side at a local pub. From there, their bond only grew stronger, and eight years later, Nate pulled off the ultimate surprise proposal at Malham Cove in Yorkshire. Holly never imagined marriage was on the cards at the time—but she says it was the best day of her life. (Little did she know that the wedding day itself would give it a serious run for its money!)

Spring Blooms & Timeless Elegance

Their vision for the day was classic and fresh, inspired by the beauty of nature. Think white and green Spring flowers, trailing foliage, and the serene surroundings of Abbeywood Gardens – complete with clusters of bluebells scattered through the grounds. Every detail reflected a sense of renewal and romance, and it was a dream to capture.

A Few Favourite Moments

There were so many sweet, emotional, and funny moments throughout the day, but two that really stood out:

  • During the drive from the church to Abbeywood, Nate revealed he was wearing the socks Holly gave him on their very first Valentine’s Day together – such a thoughtful, nostalgic gesture that meant the world to her.

  • And of course, Granny was an absolute star, snapping away on her iPad from start to finish! Honestly, I might just have to recruit her as my second shooter for future weddings.

The Soundtrack to Forever

Their first dance was to “Dream a Little Dream of Me” by Ella Fitzgerald – a timeless classic that felt just right for this effortlessly elegant couple.

Words of Wisdom

If you’re planning your wedding, take a leaf from Holly and Nate’s book: stay close to each other throughout the day. It goes by in a flash, and those quiet little moments together are the ones you’ll treasure most.

A Mini-Moon & A Dreamy Escape

Right after the wedding, Holly and Nate took a few days in Yorkshire -returning to the place where their engagement story began. Later this year, they’ll be heading to the Maldives for a well-deserved honeymoon in paradise.

A Personal Thank You

Holly and Nate, thank you so much for choosing me to capture your beautiful day. You were an absolute delight, and it was an honour to be part of such a heartfelt celebration. Wishing you a lifetime of love, laughter, and yes – bluebells.

With love,
