Good morning guys and gals

One of my favourite parts of the day is the morning preparations, most couples choose to have their full day covered so that’s the morning until and including the first dance.

I usually arrive 2 hours before the ceremony and this gives me plenty of time to capture hair & makeup, the details and to get to know everyone.

I have a small running order in my head, I think it goes back to when I was a wedding planner – I am super organised!

good morning.....the prep

Here are a few tips to help

Wooden coat hangers, these are much nicer than the plastic ones normally provided.

Hair & Makeup – although they may be there at the crack of dawn…. I wont be! I’d really recommend that you have a trial before the big day, this can alleviate any issues and make sure you go for the style you’d like. On the day your hair/makeup will put you close to a window, giving beautiful natural light.

The ‘getting ready’ room ideally needs to be clutter free, maybe have a quick tidy round the night before and this will make a huge difference to your pictures.

Have a think at what time is best to put on your dress/suit ….. you don’t want to be running tooo late for the ceremony!

I work in a relaxed way throughout the day but especially in the morning, I can sometimes get a bit stressful. I work so well with makeup artists and hair stylists and get alot of recommendations from them

Cheshire Makeup Artist, Lucinka Hodnett says –

“When i’m doing the makeup for a bride and the rest of her bridal party I always advise them on drinking plenty of water on the lead up to their big day to ensure their skin is lovely and hydrated on the day as this will make their makeup go on much better too and give them a lovely glow. As well as this, another tip would be to not wear any makeup for a few days before the wedding, again to try and help your skin to the best it can be. Having your makeup done is all well and good but it is a much better finished product when you have properly prepared your skin.”
